From March 21 to 23, 2024, cross-country skiers will compete in various events at the 3rd Galtür Nordic Volumes in Galtür. Participants also have the opportunity to gather information daily at the Expo or participate in a day at the cross-country camp, covering various aspects of cross-country skiing, including testing the latest equipment from Fischer. The race program includes the Galtür Nordic Sprint Race, a Kids Race, and the Cross Country Climb from Galtür to Bielerhöhe, which is counted in the Austria Cup and as an FIS race. The total prize money is €15,000, and registrations are now open.

March 21, 2024: 5th Galtür Nordic Sprint Race
The Galtür Nordic Volumes kick off on March 21 with the Nordic Sprint Race. Anyone born in 2008 or earlier can participate and compete with professionals in this individual race, designed as a flat terrain cross-country sprint. After a qualification round over 700 meters, the top 16 men and women advance to the final rounds. The finals involve groups of four, with the top two from each group progressing. The race is categorized into “Public Run” and “Athletes with ÖSV Code.”
March 22, 2024: Cross-Country Camp & Kids Race
On March 22, the free Children’s Cross-Country Camp, led by qualified instructors from the Galtür Ski School and cross-country professionals, provides workshops, training, and technical tips for young sports enthusiasts. Importantly, even beginners can take their first steps under professional supervision. The Cross-Country Camp is open on March 22. Following this, the Kids Race for the Children 1 & 2 classes (born 2014 – 2017) with a distance of 350 meters, as well as Students (2012 – 2013) and Youth (2010 – 2011) with 700 meters, allows the young participants to experience their first taste of competition on March 22. The best part is that every little participant receives a prize.
March 23, 2024: Galtür Cross Country Climb
On March 23, the 3rd Cross Country Climb, an open mass cross-country skiing event in free technique through the beautiful Vermunt, takes place. The route goes from Galtür towards Silvretta-Bielerhöhe and back. The race is counted in the Austria Cup and as an FIS race, and participants can register for the HARD route (approximately 31 kilometers over 861 vertical meters) or the LIGHT route (approximately 16 kilometers over 377 vertical meters). The total prize money is €7,500. A money-saving tip: Those who register by December 31, 2023, pay €30 for the LIGHT route and €36 for the HARD route. Starting from January 1, 2024, the fees increase to €40 for the LIGHT route and €50 for the HARD route.
March 21 to 23, 2024: Expo and Ski Test
Throughout the event, the Expo area will feature numerous exhibitors and partners from the cross-country skiing world, providing information on new products and equipment. Participants can also test the latest gear from top brands on-site. Partners of the Tourism Association, such as Fischer Sports, LEKI, and gloryfy unbreakable, will be present.
New: Tyrol 3 Nordic Challenge
Starting in 2024, the Galtür Nordic Volumes will be part of the newly established “Tyrol 3 Nordic Challenge.” This event, organized in collaboration with the Ganghoferlauf and the Dolomitenlauf, gives cross-country skiers the opportunity to compete in three Tyrolean cross-country skiing events and be recognized in the overall standings.
