European Ski Marathon Championships 2025
1st and 2nd of March 2025:
A Success Story of Cross-Country Ski Marathon European Championships 2025 powered by Euroloppet!
This marks the 13th time the European Championships have taken place. An event developed by Euroloppet, it has gone through various phases, experiencing both ups and downs. After a period of changing regulations, the rules have stabilized. Now, it is definitively an open European Championship, held annually within the framework of a Euroloppet race. Folk running enthusiasts from around the world gather to compete for European Championship titles in all categories.
Since the pandemic, which forced the cancellation of the European Championships in Sweden, Euroloppet has organized three successful events. The 2023-2025 championships have confirmed this positive trend, firmly establishing the Euroloppet European Championships as a success story.
Recently, 1,500 participants from 29 countries competed for European Championship titles in all age categories, marathon, half-marathon, and team competitions. In the spirit of the Euroloppet philosophy, an American athlete achieved a historic milestone, finishing third in the overall skating classification.
In Leutasch, Austria, on Tyrol’s high plateau, a celebration of cross-country skiing unfolded, exceeding all expectations during a winter marked by challenging snow conditions. The event was blessed with favorable weather, excellent trails, and a vibrant, positive atmosphere.
